The VOW135, VOW136, VOW137 and VOW2611 provide isolation for a maximum transient voltage of 8,000V, and for a maximum repetitive peak voltage of 1,414V. These wide-body optocouplers accommodate a wide gap between the input and output, providing an external creepage distance of >10mm. This makes these parts ideal for applications operating at working voltages of more than 1,000V.
The VOW optocouplers consist of a GaAIAs infra-red emitting diode, optically coupled with an integrated photo-detector. In addition, an integral Faraday shield provides excellent noise isolation, which is required in switching power circuits that handle high power.
Eliminating the need for expensive conformal-coated solutions, the VOW devices enable designers to meet domestic and international safety requirements at a low cost and in a device that is easily integrated into end products with a small form factor.
The VOW135 and VOW136 offer common mode transient immunity of 1,000V/μs and high- and low-level propagation delay of less than 2μs at a data rate of 1MBaud.
The VOW137 and VOW2611 devices provide a data rate of 10MBaud and higher common-mode transient immunity of typically 40,000V/μs, while keeping high- and low-level propagation delay at less than 100ns. High pulse-width distortion is less than 40ns.
