Vishay Intertechnology has released the first three devices in its new VOR family of hybrid solid-state relays, offering high reliability and noiseless switching in telecoms, industrial, security and metering applications. They are ideal for designers seeking to replace traditional mechanical relays with a more reliable, longer-lasting substitute.
The new Vishay VOR1142A6, VOR1142B6, and VOR1142M4 relays are normally-open single-pole, single-throw switches. Allowing for simple customisation, the devices feature a modular construction consisting of a gallium aluminium arsenide infra-red emitter to control actuation, and MOSFETs for the switch output. They provide high input-to-output isolation and current-limit protection and low power consumption.
These single-channel relays offer low typical on-resistance of 22Ω, a high load current of 140mA, a load voltage of 400V, and a very low turn-on current of 0.25mA. VDE and UL recognised, they meet the reinforced insulation requirements of most applications.
Electronically isolated, the VOR1142 relays offer clean, bounce-free switching when operating over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 100°C.
