Vishay Intertechnology has enhanced its T55 series of vPolyTanTM surface-mount polymer tantalum moulded chip capacitors with eight new devices in the A, B and T case sizes.
Taking advantage of Vishay’s advanced package design and recent investments in polymer tantalum technology, the Vishay Polytech T55 series now offers markedly higher capacitance and lower ESR.
At 2.5V, capacitors in the B case now offer a higher capacitance value up to 470μF with ESR of 25mΩ. In addition, ESR has been reduced to 25mΩ at a capacitance rating of 330μF.
At 6.3V, devices in the A and T case sizes provide improved ESR of 70mΩ with a capacitance of 100μF. At the same voltage, the B-case devices feature a lower ESR of 40mΩ at 33μF and 35mΩ at 220μF. At 10V, devices in the B case size offer enhanced ESR of 70mΩ at 47μF.
The low ESR of the T55 capacitors is due to their polymer cathodes, which offer greatly enhanced performance compared to manganese dioxide devices. In addition, the T55 capacitors offer excellent ripple-current ratings up to 2.28A and provide low internal resistance for enhanced charge and discharge characteristics.
Offered in the compact A, B, J, P and T case sizes, the T55 series features a wide capacitance range from 3.3μF to 470μF over voltage ratings from 2.5V to 10V, and a capacitance tolerance of ±20%.
