Vishay Semiconductor has introduced a new series of IGBT power modules, housed in EMIPAK packages, which are intended for use in string solar inverters and in medium-power Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).
The highly integrated devices are comprised of ultra-fast Trench IGBTs, efficient HEXFRED® and FRED Pt® diode technologies, and thermistors, which facilitate easy thermal management. The modules are all available in single packages featuring PressFit pins and an exposed substrate for low thermal resistance.
These Vishay modules provide a complete IGBT power circuit for inverters that are based on three-level Neutral Point Clamp (NPC) topologies and interleaved, multiple-channel maximum power-point tracking boost converters.
