The MIC94305 is a new member of Micrel’s Ripple Blocker™ family of integrated load switches, which provide a tightly regulated output with almost no ripple voltage.
The tiny MIC94305 may be used to reject switching noise in applications with sensitive downstream circuits, such as RF circuits. Circuit designs which otherwise would require a high-side switch, large filtering inductor and capacitors to provide a clean power rail can be made much smaller by replacing these bulky components with an MIC94305.
The MIC94305 integrates Micrel’s Ripple Blocker active filter technology with an integrated MOSFET. Operating from an input voltage of 1.8V to 3.6V, it enables true load switching of low-voltage power rails in any electronic device.
The output voltage is set at a fixed drop, typically 170mV, from the input voltage. This maintains high efficiency independent of the load conditions and current.
A low-voltage logic Enable pin disconnects the pass element, and puts the MIC94305 in a low-current shut-down state when disabled.
