Intersil’s new ISL8203M is a complete, dual 3A/single 6A step-down power module which operates from an input range of 2.85V to 6V. Providing a complete low-voltage power supply, it integrates a PWM controller, synchronous switching MOSFETs, inductors and passives.
The attraction of using the ISL8203M is its off-the-shelf, unassisted implementation combined with high efficiency and excellent thermal performance. It is easy to apply this complete step-down power module to any low-voltage, low-power application.
To help the designer, Intersil provides the ISL8203MEVAL2Z evaluation board, which demonstrates the performance of the ISL8203M.
To help the designer, Intersil provides the ISL8203MEVAL2Z evaluation board, which demonstrates the performance of the ISL8203M. The board is by default set up for 3A outputs independently. It can be easily configured to provide a current-sharing 6A output by changing placeholder resistors.
Users should connect the ISL8203MEVAL2Z to a 0-6V power supply that can supply at least a 5A source current. The electronic load at the board’s output should be capable of sinking current of up to 6A.
