Vishay Intertechnology has added 11 new devices to its 500V E series of high-voltage MOSFETs for use in switch-mode power supplies supporting loads up to 500W.
switching losses, the Vishay Siliconix E series MOSFETs are intended to help power-system designers to meet the strict requirements of the 80 PLUS® efficiency standards for multi-output computer power supplies.
Based on second-generation super-junction technology, the 11 new 500V MOSFETs provide a higher-efficiency alternative to Vishay’s existing 500V D series components, which use standard planar technology.
The devices’ combination of low on-resistance and ultra-low gate charge results in a very attractive figure of merit for designers of power-conversion applications. The MOSFETs’ low on-resistance also helps them to improve power density, while their fast switching speeds help to increase efficiency in hard-switched topologies.
