With a wide operating-temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, and a large air-gap width of 3mm, Vishay TCPT1350X01 and TCUT1350X01 transmissive optical sensors are ideal for automotive and industrial applications that require larger mechanical tolerances.
Compared to other sensors with smaller air gaps, the TCPT1350X01 and TCUT1350X01 provide greater positional flexibility and can be used with a wider variety of materials. At the same time, the sensors have compact dimensions of 5.5mm x 4mm x 4mm. The detector has a phototransistor output with typical drive current of 1.6mA, which simplifies connection to the host-system electronics.
The single-channel TCPT1350X01 includes an infrared emitter and phototransistor detector located face-to-face in a surface-mount package, and is suitable for motion and speed sensing. The dual-channel TCUT1350X01 includes an infrared emitter and two phototransistor detectors, which enables motion, speed and direction sensing thereby enabling use in applications such as Electronic Power-Steering (EPS) systems.
