Higher integration offers dual motor control, dual CAN and advanced analog
Optimise motor-control costs by independently controlling two motors with a single dsPIC® Digital Signal Controller (DSC), including connection to multiple CAN busses and on-chip precision analog for advanced sensing.
Each dsPIC33EP”GM710″ DSC enables dual motor control by integrating six paired PWM channels, for a total of twelve PWM channels, as well as multiple 32-bit Quadrature Encoder Interfaces.
In addition to reducing the cost and complexity of PMSM or BLDC motor control, each dsPIC33EP”GM710″ DSC also integrates dual CAN modules allowing the devices to act as a communication hub for automotive or industrial applications to interface with multiple CAN busses.
The combination of the processing power of a DSC, with two independent on-chip ADC modules, also enables advanced sensing with support for up to 49 channels. Two on-chip-ADCs provide the flexibility to be configured for 10-bit, 1.1 Msps with four samples and holds; or 12-bit, 500 ksps with one sample and hold.
Complex scheduling of high-speed peripheral operations is achieved through the on-chip Peripheral Trigger Generator (PTG), saving software cycles and simplifying firmware design.
