To help designers select the optimum capacitor for energy storage, smoothing and filtering in applications requiring high ripple-current, high-temperature capability and low impedance, Vishay offers three families of aluminium electrolytic capacitors providing a choice of snap-in or surface-mount terminals.
The 146 CTI low-impedance series, part of Vishay’s surface-mount family, comprises capacitors which are capable of up to 6000 hours useful life at 125°C. The whole series is AEC-Q200 qualified for use in automotive electronic-control units as well as industrial and professional applications.
The devices are vibration proof, featuring four or six solderable pads, and are also charge and discharge proof with no peak-current limitation. Devices in nominal case sizes from 8mm x 8mm x 10mm to 18mm x 18mm x 21mm are available in voltage ratings from 16V to 63V and a capacitance range from 22μF to 4700μF.
The 159 PUL-SI series are ultra long-life snap-in capacitors that deliver 3000-5000 hours of useful life at 105°C, allowing use in solar inverters, general power supplies and audio equipment, as well as energy storage in pulse systems. 159 PUL-SI capacitors offer small case sizes from 22mm x 25mm to 35mm x 60mm, in voltage ratings up to 500V and capacitance from 56μF to 1800μF. High ripple current capability and low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) ensure energy-efficient and predictable performance with long-term reliability.
The 198 PUL-SI series are 400V and 450V snap-in capacitors that offer up to 15,000 hours useful life at 85°C, and have high ripple current capability for use in motor-control and industrial systems as well as energy storage and general power-supply filtering applications. Case sizes range from 22mm x 25mm to 35mm x 60mm and capacitance from 56μF to 680μF.
