Vishay Intertechnology has announced the release of a new series of power MiniLEDs in very small, white 2.3mm x 1.3mm x 1.4mm SMD packages.
Vishay Semiconductors’ VLMx234 AllnGaP LEDs provide very high brightness for such small devices: while typical luminous intensity is 3,500mcd, the devices offer maximum luminous intensity of 4,900mcd at a 70mA drive current.
The new LEDs are specified with a low thermal resistance, junction-to-ambient, of 325K/W and power dissipation of up to 200mW, features which enable them to handle high drive currents up to 70mA.
The devices’ small size, high intensity and good thermal performance make them ideal for small-scale products that are expected to work reliably in a testing environment.
The VLMx234 devices feature a ±60° angle of half intensity.
