Vishay Intertechnology has extended two of the families in its TANTAMOUNT® series of solid-tantalum surface-mount chip capacitors with higher ratings up to 75V in the B, C, D, E, V and W case sizes.
The industry’s first 75V moulded tantalum capacitors, the Vishay Sprague devices are designed to meet the de-rating requirement for 50%-rated voltage in +28V and +35V applications.
The new 75V devices are available in the TR3 family, which features devices with low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR), and in the standard industrial-grade 293D family.
Both provide an economical option for decoupling in 75V applications, and for use in power supplies at +28V, and in DC-DC conversion at +35V. The new devices are optimised for sensor, industrial-control and airborne applications, and are expected to be widely used in telecommunications base stations.
The 293D capacitors are available in six moulded case sizes, and the TR3 in seven. All feature standard RoHScompliant tin terminations. Tin/lead terminations are available on request. Devices in the C, D, and E case codes are 100% surge-current tested.
