The 34 THE from Vishay is a Hall-effect rotary position sensor that can measure continuous angular displacement up to ten turns (3,600°). Produced in an 09 size, 22.2mm diameter housing, it accepts either servo or bushing mounts.
The contactless Hall-effect technology used for angle measurement in the 34 THE endows it with outstanding resistance to environmental conditions. It is rated for operation under the effect of high-frequency vibrations up to 20G, and of shocks up to 50G.
At the same time, it offers a very long life of 50 million cycles with a servo mount and 10 million cycles with a bushing mount, which is at least ten times longer than typical wirewound multi-turn sensors.
Accurate to ±0.5%, the 34 THE may be specified with either single or redundant signals. It produces an analogue, PWM or SPI output, and maintains stable linearity throughout its lifetime.
A supply current of <16mA at 5V is sufficient for the single-signal version, and <32mA for redundant signals. The recommended load resistance is 1kΩ for analogue and PWM outputs.
