Vishay Intertechnology has announced a new BCcomponents series of surfacemount aluminium capacitors that offer operation for long periods at high temperatures.
The 160 CLA series of polarised aluminium electrolytic capacitors, which have a non-solid, self-healing electrolyte, are available in six case sizes, ranging from 12.5mm x 12.5mm x 13mm to the largest 18mm by 18mm by 21mm.
The AEC-Q200 automotive-qualified parts are rated for operation at 150°C, offering a useful life of up to 2,000 hours at this elevated temperature.
The 160 CLA devices feature a very low ‘Z’ rating (for maximum impedance at 100kHz) of 0.035Ω, which provides for high performance and reliability. Ripple current is rated at up to 1.35A.
The parts are available in capacitance values from 100μF to 3,300μF over a voltage range of 16-63V. They are ideally suited to filtering, smoothing, buffering and voltage-decoupling applications in high-temperature environments.
The 160 CLA capacitors are charge- and discharge-proof, so they are subject to no peak-current limitation. The 4-pin and 6-pin versions are specified for applications exposed to high levels of vibration.
